Faces of Service: Emma

“While doing the SVA Service Award I found it introduced me to new people and teachers at Havelock North High School. This then extended out into doing community service which involved gardening, supporting the Breathe Easy Support Group, and a lot of other jobs. It was an exciting opportunity to fill in my free time and give others support, so they benefited from my help. Skills I have gained from SVA are the importance of helping people and becoming more compassionate to people and being more confident in myself.

The advice I would give others is that SVA grows you as a person and you become more confident and compassionate to other people and you learn a lot of life skills.”
